Hello everyone,
I am thinking about buying a new Macbook Air. I understand it is possible to run windows along with OS X. How would I set htis up since my current job requires a windows-based PC? I currently own an Iphone and Ipad, and love them both. ARe there any practical differences I should be aware of?
Any help, information, or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

One a legal DVD win7 or win8, 2. a optical external DVD drive USB 2.0 and a flash drive with about 4 gigs of free space fore apples drivers "hints bootcamp". Now, You could just use another computer, make a bootable flash drive with win7 or 8 and another drive that has free space on it. Now, go to, your finder and then open mac OSX drive, open apps, tools "I might be a bit off so you can use spot light to find bootcamp its quicker." Now either "vo" "option plus control spacebar on bootcamp or simplely use your up and down arrow keys at once and click bootcamp. Please at this time have your win7 or 8 media at hand and a flash drive for bootcamp drivers.
Now 3,2,1 slect create a bootable bootcamp flash drive, select install windows and then click next the mac will begin to down load the bootcamp drivers for your windows installation. Sit back here for a sec because the next few and last steps is fun. A pear of eyes is needed unless you have the talking windows installer, then have a pare of USB head phones or speakers.
Okay your mac should be done here and at this point it will ask how much of the drive you want to share with your windows installation. After this is done it will reboot, begin to install windows all might be well. Note: I can not stress how much a pare of eyes is needed if you do not have the talking installer or a pare of working eye-balls. If you attempt this and screw it up I am not reliable for your mac.
I have run this type of setup for several months. I've had a couple issues with some jaws keystrokes not working such as jaws key+page down but not enough to be a major issue. Plugging an external keyboard fixes this issue.
Hi Starfly,
Thank you for your detailed instructions.
HI GuitarGuy,
Thank you for answering my question so thoroughly. It appears that this should not be as big of a hastle as I thought.

If its any comfort to you my mac is the only computer that I have at this time. It is my windows7 computer and my mac.
I was able to install Windows 7 on a boot camp partition by using my iPhone to OCR the screen. It was painful but is doable.
I thought about going the bootcamp way once before, but I use VMware fusion instead.no sited assistance needed to install windows. it just does it for you.
